I don't think I like character driven stories. Didn't like the sex before love and how they slept with other people. Flat characters. Hate the hockey/sports setting

This is almost the reverse of a traditional romance which starts with the falling-in-love and ends with spicy bedroom scenes. This starts H-O-T and gently eases into the love story. Erotica to romance instead of the other way around.

It’s hot, these guys are adorable, and I learned a lot about the physical elements of athletic gay sex.

This is technically a reread and I’m still in love with this book years later. I have a lot of feelings about this book.

The entire reason i started this series was the hype behind this book and ummmm it wasn’t bad but it was almost similar to the first book so I didn’t get what was so bogus about this one.

ANYHOO, I LOVE SHANE AND ILYA

I loved this book!! The spice! The relationship arc! The characters!! This book had me literally cheering out loud for these boys!! This is book two in the Game Changers series and is so much better than the first book that it is kind of laughable, but I am actually very glad I read them in order because it was like having a secret little good news spoiler to look forward to and that moment paid off so hard in this book!!!

I loved the way this book really took its time with Ilya and Shane without ever feeling like a torturous slow burn. These are complex characters dealing with some complicated emotions and not always being smart about it, but there is always forward motion with these two. And there is always spice. So much spice. Also it must be said that Rachel Reid has made magic in writing Ilya as a such a jerk but in a way that is also endlessly charming and frankly very funny.  Be prepared for me to be insufferable about this series because there are six books in it and I will be reading all of them.

The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because I just wanted more of these boys! I wanted to follow them through their announcement as a couple. I have since learned that there is a sequel that does this, but it is separated from this book by 3 other books. So for now, the rating stands at 4.75, but I reserve the right to change my mind on that.
