I was getting confused...need to concentrate for this one
An amazing murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie, but with the added twist of being stuck in a time loop. Aiden, as we uncover, wakes up each day in different guests body. Each new ‘Host’ allows him to explore the murder of Evelyn from different points of view with new knowledge and insights and with varying strengths and weaknesses. Its sounds far-fetched, and for the first third of the book I would have agreed. However, as the story progresses and you become enveloped in the time loop and principle the book hooks you in.
Beautifully written with a classic old school feel this plot and pace are perfect for anyone who adores murder mysteries. A unique storytelling that’s making me seek out more books by Stuart Turton immediately.

First of all, a bit of credit I personally have to give to this book because it's the first book I've managed to finish since having the worst reading slump of my life.
And secondly, I truly enjoyed the writing. Smooth, fast paces without sacrificing too much depth and some promising characterisation here and there. I also found that the mystery unravels and twists in ways that I could not call out, apart from a couple of things. What he does not do so well is give us enough smart clues, as I honestly believe that some twists just hit you because you simply could never have seen them coming. Somehow, I also found the re-living the whole day thingy messy and no matter how much he explained, I just couldn't wrap my mind fully around it (yes, I did consider the possibility that I'm just too dumb to get it). Some characters the main character inhabits are also pretty useless for the most part and they just add pages that were not necessary.
I also did not give it a four because I simply disagreed with the decision of the main character. I'd not be so forgiving or trustworthy of A and I don't believe someone like that could change in the way the author wanted us to believe she might have. So the whole "is all good now we will go away together and live happily ever after" narrative left me a bit sceptical.
The author has absolutely won me over however and I will be happy to read more from him.
*quick FYI: I have a booktube channel! You can find me at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKIN...*
