I wanted to like this so much more than I did, but the tedium of certain character PoVs strongly undercut my enjoyment... as well as the finale.
Is it confusing, especially at the beginning? Yes! But I really enjoyed it!! I didn’t necessarily LIKE the main guy or really anyone but I wanted him to figure out what was going on and solve the mystery! Very interesting and unique concept that I do think was done well. The fatphobia was unnecessary. But I read so many books and this one felt so fresh
Giving it 4 stars solely cause it's just such a unique concept and the very fact that it holds together at all is deeply impressive.
I did enjoy it a lot but the writing style was overwrought and repetitive, to me.
The plot was just a little too confusing and I feel like the reader spends way too much of this story either struggling to keep things straight or as confused as the narrator which gets a little tedious.
The final reveal of the whodunnit was like, so classic and straight out of Christie that it felt cheap but there's a couple of other interesting twists I liked a lot and sorta wish that the larger idea behind the whole situation was more explored.
Well, I read it in two days and enjoyed it on the whole so I'll definitely read the authors next book. Rats off to ya, Stu!

It’s so boring, and the main character is not relatable. There’s too many side characters.

It's like a black mirror episode in book form. Very unique concept with twists.
This author could not be normal about fat people to save their life!!!! Also I got the sense the plot would not have a satisfying ending and reading the summary I was right <3
Graphic: Fatphobia
