For myriad reasons I wasn’t able to read this book as quickly as I wanted. This was maddening! I wanted to sit down and lose myself in the mystery of it and immerse myself in the world of Blackheath. An excellent mystery full of twists and surprises and in thee it was a far more complicated and satisfying an ending than I ever could have predicted. Buy this book!

if the ending was just a little bit stronger, and one of the last mysteries inside a mystery (inside of a mystery, inside of another mystery) i would say this was one of my favourite mystery novels to date. as it stands, still a solid read.

It's like a literary escape room. What a fun, almost interactive mystery this book is. I kept forming theories only to have the dashed when the day repeated and new details were revealed. The way the plot unfolded through the eyes of different guests was a treat. I found myself tricked more than once during this one, and I'm not mad about it.

This book really needed a stronger editor to finesse it a bit. The mystery is compelling but it doesn’t quite hold together just right. Enjoyed it all the same.
