As a fan of the Attack on titan anime series this is an amazing addition to the series. The characters are written well and you want to know all about them. I'm hoping the rest of this series is amazing I'm excited to continue.

Having gone back to this again I love finding things I missed on my first read.

So my excuse for getting this was to read it while I wait for volume 5 to arrive in my next book haul...as you can see I kind of devoured it rather quickly and can I just say I feel sorry for Kuklo, the mistreated 'son of a titan' and now I want to read volume 2. Help.

This prequel to the main AOT is shaping up to be a great series if the first volume is anything to go by.
While it looks to be that the series will focus on Kuklo the so called titan's son, who sends this volume in bondage, and Sharle. This first volume mainly seemed to give us a better insight into the upper-crust of the walled world of AOT. It ends with what looks to be the beginning of the adventure for Kuklo and Sharle.
The art has a more polished look to it than in the AOT volumes so far.
It will be interesting to see where this series goes and how it might link in or inform the main AOT series.
