I kind of don't care about the characters and the story, but will it stop me from reading the remaining volumes? Probably not...

I honestly didn’t know what to expect. There has been a whole mess of Attack on Titan sequels and prequels and alternate universe stories, I don’t even know where to begin.

This story follows a boy accused of being half titan and half human. He’s locked away at an early age and grows up tortured and starved until he meets a young girl determined to escape an arranged marriage. Together the two form a plan of escape from the only known sanctuary protecting them from the enormous man-eating titans. The plot was simplistic, but the artwork was absolutely phenomenal. The cliffhanger ending has me patiently awaiting the next in the series.

This really caught my attention quickly. It wasn't long before I fell in love with a couple of the characters, and I even have some fanart ideas. Really emotional and I'm about to pick up the next volume to see what happens next!

The art, in my opinion, is significantly better than in the main series - this series is done by a different writer and a different artist - but while I think it's fascinating and done very well, I feel that whatever happens in the subsequent volumes will really affect whether or not I recommend this to other readers. Find a more in-depth, slightly more spoilery review here.

Ich bin hier per Zufall in der Bibliothek drüber gestolpert und habe mich daran erinnert, wie meine Schwester gesagt hat, dass es toll sein soll. Ich gehöre ganz sicher nicht zu den regelmässigen Manga-Lesern, aber ab und zu ist es halt doch angenehm.
Was mich zu diesem Buch bringt: Es war angenehm zu lesen, sehr schnell, die Geschichte geht nicht sonderlich tief oder weit, aber dafür ist ja auch das nächste Buch da. Mal sehen wie's weiter geht.
