I absolutely love fairy-tale retellings! So when I saw that this was about Red Riding Hood.. well, I dove right into this book!

Sister Red is obviously about Red Riding Hood.. I mean I did just mention it, right? This book definitely reminded me of an episode from Supernatural.. which yeah, it has been a while since I've seen that show but it still made me think of it! ...and now I want to watch an episode from that show!

Well I loved that this was a dual POV from the sisters, Scarlett and Rosie. UGH SCARLETT! That name makes me think of Cinder and that wonderful series <3 Either way, I love their different views and reading about their strained family relationship. I also really liked the whole werewolf hunting aspect. I would never go, personally, but I did like reading about it.

I could've done without the "love triangle" but that's mostly because I despise them. I wont say which sisters I liked more .. because they are both unique and see things a little bit differently. I will , however, say that they are both bad ass females who slay constantly.

Overall, this book was highly entertaining, interesting, and just hooks you in. I loved everything about this book. It was such a quick and easy read that you will devour very quickly.

Maybe 5 stars is over doing it? I dunno, I really liked this one though it may have some faults. But mostly I just think this is a very creative and fun story. There is also the kicking-butt female action I like so much (a la Hunger Games and Graceling). Also...cool cover...hello! And a little romance with all the lovely tension that goes along with it.
I'm pretty excited to read Pearce's other books now.

I really enjoyed this book!! Parts of it were a little predictable for me...but even though I guessed some of what was going to happen....how the characters got there was always a surprise! The characters are easy to love....in the end I was left with a feeling of "yay" but at the same time wanting to follow up and see where they go next!! I like books like that....they not so much leave you wanting more....but it's like you miss the characters once the story ends!! All in all a great read!!

This book was alright. The action scenes were awesome but the romance was waaaaay too sappy. I'm a girl and I was practically vomiting while reading it. It was a little overboard. But overall it was a very unique read.

It was.. I mean.. it's a neat concept. But.. I didn't enjoy this book at all. I found it exceedingly predictable.

This one is a wonderful read. It's a dark fairytale and Jackson Pearce presented it beautifully.

The characters are well developed. The portrayal of the relationship between the two sisters is excellent. My favorite character is Rosie. Her dilemma, longing for a life other than hunting seems very real to me.Scarlett is ok but sometimes her obsession with hunting is a bit extreme in my opinion.

The plot was good and straight forward but I have to say there was no suspense in it.I knew the big surprise from the very start. And all most anyone can see that coming a long before the climax. But if you can ignore this fact, the story is enjoyable enough. Now I am eagerly waiting for the second installment.
