Firstly, the illustrations were gorgeous and I found the artistic and storytelling choices sophisticated. For example, the author used color blocking to represent different narratives. The moments of subtlety yet attention to detail were impressive as well. However, it was more character-driven and slice-of-life than expected. Finally, I thought it was missing a sense of closure at the end and the pacing was rushed at some points of the book.

I really enjoyed the interweaving of fairy tales into the overarching story. The author's notes at the end about how they are conceptualized was so helpful to understand the graphic novel even better.
