Utterly delightful. It was like inhabiting a movie that you really enjoyed. I adored her friends, her courage to change something that didn't feel right, even after such a long time and was certainly charmed by Ben. If you want an entertaining, heartwarming, but not totally canned romantic comedy in book form, I certainly recommend this one. Plus, I loved all the Britishness about it. Also, I like that even though she has splendid friends, they are different and disagree with her sometimes. Certainly looking forward to future books from this new author.

Why are these characters so unhinged. I think they are supposed to act like "real people" but it felt like real people who make very bad choices ...
Originally gave this five stars for pure enjoyment 🫶🏻 but ultimately can’t put it up against some of my other five stars in good conscience. The emotional depth in this book was giving Dolly Alderton and because I was so wrapped up in the feelings of all the characters I genuinely had no idea how this book was going to end…right up until the last chapter. I’m so excited that Mhaiari McFarlane has so many more books!
Be warned though, there are def some very *2012* (and maybe kind of British humor?) plot points that I hope would not show up in her current books.
