Mini-Review: What. The. Actual. Crap. Okay so... I have a lot to say about this book but I'm going to try and condense it. First things first is that for a thriller it's not very... thrilling. For the first 3/4 of the book nothing happens and then all of a sudden so much happens you can hardly keep track of it. I didn't like the use of present tense for what were supposed to be flashbacks. And Brett and Stephanie's "voices" for their povs felt similar so I often forgot whose I was reading from if I stopped in the middle of a chapter. The characters were insufferable and honestly, this book is high school drama with money and reality tv but with adults. Would've been a one star but I gave it the extra star for shocking me at the end.

Not a good read. Petty women, confusing character list at the beginning, plethora of triggers. I rarely don’t finish books, but i won’t miss out on this one.

I was a big fan Jessica Knoll first novel ‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ and decided to give this one a go, but found myself missing the quality it had. The characters are all flawed, but there is no build to make them likeable they are just big balls of flaw.

Crying Score: not a tear shed.

The choice to unravel the women through each others' narratives sometimes felt a little too pointed, as if Brett and Stephanie's narrations knew the other was thinking about them. However, this idea fascinated me, and kept me going through the book. The choice to make their narrations lie, on the other hand, felt strange at some points and a cheat in others.
