Easily the best installment in this series so far. Looking back, I think the biggest issue with the previous books was that there wasn't a lot of interesting conflict. There was a ton of setup in the first two, and this one definitely introduced some interesting threads that will have to come together in the final book, so I'm finally feeling a little more anticipation to get into it. Honestly, I think if the first two books had been combined and some of the extraneous romantic angst had been distilled down into a few key moments, rather than permeating the whole story, this would have been just as strong as some of her previous work (I say this not knowing if the final installment is going to be any good, but here's to hoping).

It's like the first 2 books were prologues.
