Alexa, play Speechless by Dan and Shay. Seriously though, I'm giving my bestie who recommended this to me a cookie or a hundred dollars or something next time I see her. It was just... everything! The only way I can describe the way I felt while reading it was fascination. I was just enthralled as I got lost in the beautiful words and the STUNNING characters and the action on every page. I mean, Talin is absolutely wonderful. Characters like her are just one in a million, I just thought she was very cool and that's all. And Red deserves a hug for sure. I want to see so much more of him. I always hate writing reviews because I can never express exactly what I felt and what this book meant to me without sounding silly but I just really enjoyed this one! It managed to be very deep and thought-provoking and heart-wrenching without getting toooo dark and I just... adored it and I'd highly, highly recommend for any fan of speculative fiction! Simply stunning, I'm without words.

In a war torn future where the technology has regressed Talin and her companions work to protect Mara as the Federation bears down on their borders with ghosts that have a bite that will turn you into the same type of monster. The Federation does experiments to turn their prisoners into these monsters and worse. When one of the Federation soldiers is captured and Talin defends him before he is executed by her leader, our adventure is set to begin.
