Such a good volume, the exam arc has been building nicely, the battles were really good, art amazing, and that last panel really gets me excited for the next volume!!

Frieren meets Tomb Raider as she, Fern, and the other contestants gear up for the second challenge in the certification exam: reach the depth of a long-dead king's final resting spot, with or without working together. Ready or not, the oddities locked in the tomb with the old king - including exact clones of each contestant - are coming. Will Frieren be able to face - and outsmart - herself, or will the party's hopes be doomed to an early grave?
This was another fun and complex task for the group to face individually and as a whole. It has been fun to watch our main characters set themselves to task, and equally as fun to watch all of the other contestants individually and in small groups work together and/or against each other, and I really hope some of these people will be joining the greater party or continuing in parallel alongside Frieren and the gang, as I'm invested in what they're doing too. I think the next volume will bring some major lore and a shift based on the introduction of the last challenge, so I'm excited to see who rises to the challenge!
