Spoilery spoilers.
All of them.
Here.

This book was so weird for me, because I'm SO invested with the whole dark forest rising thing, and starclan being super shady. But then we cut to ivypaw who annoys the hell out of me, and dovepaw who was just dumb in this book. And I am so so SO tired of the whole I love a cat in another clan, we can't be together but then we're together, and ugh angst! I'm sick of it. At least dovepaw actually had time on their journey up the river to get to know tigerheart (was he still tigerpaw when they traveled? I forget). But yeah, just a storyline I'm tired of coming up over and over. Same with medicine cats having secret kits, like enough.

But it was awesome to see inside shadowclan!! I loved seeing how eager they all are to improve and be the best and work to not repeat past mistakes. I really hope there's eventually a graphic novel with a shadowclan cat. It's so easy to dismiss them as the "bad guys" but they really interest me.

A huge reason I love this world (aside from a lifelong love of cats, obviously) is because of the role prophecy and visions and omens (ha) play in the series. I love how things can be interpreted in so many ways, and it's so easy to misunderstand signs. But wording like "kin of your kin" is just so delightfully vague! The dynamic of starclan as its own entity as well as being part of their religion is so interesting - especially when cats start to question it all.

And whoa whoa with that ending?!?! My boy jayfeather is going to have some serious grumbling guilt in the next book haha I just love how things are building and gathering and waiting to attack. I've really been missing leafpool and squirrelflight since the last arc, but ugh not enough brambleclaw either! (Yes, I know. I KNOW okay lol but still)

I am not ready for book 6. I've been preparing myself lol but I love the feeling in this arc of like, how are they going to fix this?!?!

Believathon: tbr vet (I bought most of my warriors books all together forever ago!)
Clear your shit: animal (of course

Complex and amazing! 9/10

Loved having a non-ThunderClan POV for once.

So much have happened and it will be the biggest battle of all starclan!

This was less of a book itself and more like a build up to the next one. Nothing really happened but it was still okay.

This was the first Warriors book that I’ve never read before, and I was so excited! I wish I could remember why I abandoned the series after Fading Echoes but that was like 7 years ago.

The highlight of Night Whispers was definitely ShadowClan’s perspective since it’s really refreshing to see some other clans and especially cats besides ThunderClan. But otherwise, one of the honestly worst plot points of Warriors can be found in this book: StarClan splitting up and telling them that the clans should be only with themselves in order to survive. This makes no sense whatsoever and only causes problems in the course of Omen of the Stars. This is also one of the few times where Mothwing actually has a valid point that the orders of the StarClan are weird, Jayfeather should have just taken the herbs from her.
The ending also irritated me so much, Moonkitti summarizes the whole situation well (spoilers, obviously): Like, the death of Flametail was so random? Why did we even get his perspective if he already dies at the end of the book? Why does Jayfeather let him die just because Stone tells him to? Why is he suddenly in the Dark Forest? I have so many questions and I won’t get an answer.

Dovepaw starts into her forbidden romance, and I want to scream because we get one of those again. At the beginning, I had the feeling that they had more chemistry than other pairings before. But then ShadowClan takes Ivypaw as a hostage because they only know from Tigerheart that ThunderClan has the right herbs and I’m seriously questioning his intentions.
This was one of the few books where I actually sympathized with Lionblaze when he was disgusted of himself because he killed  Russetfur. But then there is Lionblaze x Cinderheart which is one of the most annoying pairings in the whole series. I don’t understand why Lionblaze told Cinderheart about the prophecy. But I understand even less why Cinderheart thinks she needs to break up with him because of it? It’s so stupid.

All in all, many of the interactions between the cats made no sense, especially StarClan makes everything worse. But at least it was something different with ShadowClan’s perspective!
