It was a good read, but the author's focus on tarot is not very deep. I either know too much or too little about tarot for it to click. Big points for the slow development of sapphic desire, felt very realistic and well thought out!

DID NOT FINISH

the beginning of this was good, I didn't dnf out of any dislike of it, but something about the main character's personality + as soon as I caught a whiff of her being attracted to her advisor/boss I was like..... is this what I want to read rn...... not really. but even then I don't hate the idea of the storyline so it's going back on my shelf for later. I'm just clearing out my cr tag here

The characters are hard to love. Nobody says what they want or want what they say.

The end felt rushed. The rythem of the writing feels off sometimes, with some very long sentences with emdashes and clauses stacked on top of each other.

I did enjoy the book, it was okay. It did sparked an interest in tarot and witchyness.

i enjoyed reading it, but immediately forgot about it after i finished. good vibes and cool concepts but i think the story suffered from unfocused writing and could have done with a couple more rounds of editing.

I loved this book so much. Read it in the dead of winter (January 2023) and couldn't wait for it get warm enough for me to visit the Cloisters. It's beautifully written with the tarot as its guide, and the plot twists are WILD. Highly recommend.
