This book somewhat disappointed me. I had really high hopes for it but they were a little over the top. The plot was good and I enjoyed the characters but I guess the cursing bothered me. I also felt like it dragged.

Besides the representation being so good, I just didn’t really enjoy this book? I loved the ace rep especially and understood Alice’s struggles with her identity and really enjoyed seeing her become more and more comfortable within herself! But the plot was just really boring and I didn’t really like any of the characters except for Alice 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can see people enjoying this one but it just wasn’t my favorite!

The main character is a biromantic asexual, a thing I haven't seen in a book before. The story was good and flowed lovely. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the love interest, I wasn't sold on him, but that's okay.
I received an ecopy of this through netgalley; however all opinions are my own.

Alice is so relatable in so many aspects of what she does and how she thinks. The book does an excellent job showcasing the struggles of being ace in the dating world, and how it intersects with race.

Me bursting into tears because a character described themselves as “biromantic asexual” is a prime example of why representation matters. Honestly, I’ve never felt so seen and understood and valid my whole entire life.

This was a sweet story! I'd never read a book with an ace mc before and it managed to show some of the obstacles ace people run into when dating, while still showing Alice as a well-rounded character. The story wasn't about her asexuality, it was about her growing and learning about herself. The love story was very cute and the main character was very likeable.
