Not incredible but it was sweet and the backflip on age difference is a very thought provoking topic. Like Valentina, I struggled with it also, not giving Ford enough credit for knowing what he wanted and his feelings simply because he’s gorgeous. Clearly, I’ve been more susceptible to cultural conditioning than I thought! Although upon reflection, I do consistently read romance so why am I surprised?

Vi Keeland is a guarantee!
Her stories always capture the reader, as well as her protagonists!

In this case Ford, thirty-seven divorced, falls in love with his 25-year-old neighbor and babysitter of his daughters, Valentina.

A funny story, you'll gradually fall in love with the characters and anxiously yearn for Keel's next book.

This is the second time a Vi Keeland book has truly surprised me.
I'm absolutely going to go deeper into her back catalogue because I've been so pleasantly surprised by her books.

The covers and the titles make you absolutely think the book is very much one way and then the book has an actual plot and is fairly insightful.

I did realize that the "you used to babysit my son" angle made me a little uncomfy.  But, other than that I had a good time with this book.

it was a cute read. i found relating to the protagonist difficult since we are in such different stages of life and the constant push & pull annoyed me a bit but it wasn't awful. also the plot feels really weak? like, we get glimpses of the life of the main characters, but most of the time it isn't that relevant and doesn't really affect the story in any way. also the life of the minor characters was nonexistent, for example we are given no resolution to the little sister's drunk night and we know virtually nothing about the son. i guess i wished the world could have been explored a little bit more but okay. also the sex was just..okay?
