All Grown Up by Vi Keeland

This month I am reading most of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s books. I rated the last few pretty poorly because I just didn’t like them all that much. Well I am happy to say that I loved All Grown Up!

I just finished it and even though at times I felt like the age gap was pointed out too much I absolutely adored the ending to their story. The only thing I would change about this book is how often Valentina harps on their age difference. This could have been an irritant to me because I myself usually date older people and my parents are 11 years apart so I don't see what is so wrong with it. When I first read this book it was my first age gap and since then I have found that this mentality is quite common in the troupe so maybe it's just me.

Things I loved about this book in no particular order. Ford’s dedication to convincing Valentina to date him. The fact that the climatic part wasn't caused by Valentina (I was so sure she was gonna be the problem). Ford is damn near perfect, honestly his love for his sister is sexy as fuck. Valentina’s son's first reaction after finding out that Valentina and Ford are dating (though I do wish that we had gotten to experience that instead of just being told about it). The epilog, even though I wasn't entirely surprised by it I still adored it and would have loved for it to be a bit longer or even have a second one to see if the prediction came true. I think the thing I loved the most though was Valentina learning that age is just a number and the fact that she was still able to make her dreams come true even with a man. Too many women seem to think it's okay to give up on their dreams for a man and I love that she fought for her dreams in the end even if she did need Ford to push her sometimes.

I didn’t expect to love this book but didn’t expect to dislike it either. This book felt short in a way. They said they’ve known each other for a while because they were neighbors but honestly I couldn’t tell, there’s no flashbacks ,no ‘Do u remember this’ conversations.

Adding on,I didn’t like reading the guy’s perspective (and yes I’ve already forgotten his name). It was boring.I would be okay with only the girl’s perspective (also forgotten her name). We nearly didn’t get his perspective ,which I was thankful about, but when we did get it I normally stopped reading because it was too boring for my liking.

And honestly I think I can say much more but I’m going to stop it here.

I wish there was an extended epilogue !! But All Grown-Up was awesome!! Loved Ford and Valentina’s story

Plot isn't super original, stakes are low, but this was a solid read—witty banter, believable characters, believable backstories, a lot of chemistry.

My only gripe is that I really don't buy that the hero is only 25 years old—maybe if he were 27-29, everything would make a little more sense. I don't really think that there needs to be a 12 year age gap between the main characters for the age difference conflict to be believable, but 25 year old dudes who are as mature and successful as Ford are just...not only do they not exist, it's hard for me to even suspend my disbelief over.

Ok wow I absolutely loved this book so much I didnt want it to end!!! I loved this story and i loved the characters. I felt like I was in the story and I love that it was told between both characters and hearing both sides of the story. This was the perfect read and I cant wait to read more books by Vi Keeland she does such an amazing job writing!

Hey Mrs. Peabody, can you see my future??!!

I've had this book since released but it seems like I have a never ending pile to read.

Val is 37 and starting over. Ford is 25 and looking for "something". It's something we so often in reverse and many don't consider is wrong. But these two got paired through "Match.com" so it has to be right?! Right?!

There was so much to this story I felt on a personal level. The struggle of a failed marriage, losing oneself in that marriage and the steps to starting over. The pain of dealing with your ex and finding your worth again. Finally feeling like you again and having your child ask if they can ever have their family back together. Valentina has so much strength and from the moment she "speaks" to Donovan there is this comfort and safety she didn't think she could have again. Ford has lived a life of a 30-something in a 25 olds body. He loves his sister dearly, surmised to keep his parents company thriving and knows who is. But there is something missing that he finds in a cannonball. There is no other way to put it but that I fell in love with him along with Val. I could read the story over and over and find new little things to treasure.

I've started my journey already but I have yet to meet my Ford. Idk if he's younger or older but I hope I find him. Really wish Mrs. Peabody has answers for me!!!
