Older woman, younger man. Totally here fornit!!

I read this in two days on vacation.

I don't want to get too spoilery b/c too be frank, I didn't know much about it going in, but OOOOHHHHH this one is FUN!!!! It avoids most of the frustrating tropes of the "no we can't be together" genre, but I will say it took about 10% too long for Val to give in because what comes after is even better! Very sexy, funny, surprising in a few ways, very satisfying and much more realistic than I expected so it was a lot easier for me to let go and enjoy this one. Also did I mention it was sexy? lol VERY R-rated in all of the best ways.

Also for those interested in my fan-casting: this is who I imagined in the main roles

Valentina = Gina Rodriguez
Ford = Darren Barnet
Eve = Scarlet Johansson
Eve's husband = Mark Ruffalo
Valentina's son = Gregory Diaz IV
Ford's sister = Midori Francis

I fell in love w these characters!! It was the perfect mix!

I haven’t dived into Vi Keeland’s books in a while. I liked the story of a divorced woman getting back into the dating world (thanks to a very pushy best friend), only to find that the much younger man (his 25 years to her 37) she chats up on a dating app was (and kinda still is) her neighbor at her family’s summer beach house. The banter between them was funny and witty, and he was definitely mature for his age, having to take charge of his sister’s well-being after their parents died when he was a teenager, as well as handling the family business. Plus he just couldn’t tolerate what he saw as BS mind games from women his age. I could understand Valentina’s reluctance to give him a chance given she was a teen mom who married young, and her husband left her for a much younger woman. She also never had the chance to live her life they way she would’ve in her twenties if she hadn’t married so young, so it made her reluctant to dive into a brand new relationship. And when Ford discovered a family secret that crumbles everything he thought he knew about his parents, it definitely made him question a relationship with Val despite her coming around. There’s also the requisite epilogue that never makes one fail to squee.

3,5⭐️ I guess

Absolutely Amazing! Vi is a very talented story teller. I loved it.

Great quick read.

Flowed well. Loved the characters. Both are spunky and truly deserve to be together. Loved the ending, it was great to see them through it.

I love this reverse age gap romance. Ford and Valentina re-meet cute is hilarious and awkward. I love that he is the one who seems more in control in the relationship even though he is younger. It makes it even more endearing when he shows any vulnerability. And I really enjoyed Valentina's journey to a life after divorce. she's a little bit broken, a little scared, so she's hesitant, but she still finds ways to move forward and become who she was always meant to be. Ford helps her so much in that journey. And you just can't help but root for these two. The narration by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York was absolutely perfect. Even though Sebastian can sound a little bit older , it worked with Ford, who was very mature for his age because of everything he had gone through in the past.

4,5 stars!

✔️Age gap romance
✔️Sexual tension
✔️Flirty Hero
✔️Evolving Heroine
✔️Great Chemistry

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The chemistry that Valentina and Ford has is addicting. They’re so perfect for each other, they have the most fun times together, and they make each other better.
Ford pushes Valentina to be the woman she needs to be, she makes her feel free, young and sexy. Despite his young age, Ford shows how mature he is time after time, especially when he takes care of his younger sister. Valentina is a great heroine! Due to her past she is now chasing after her dream even though it might be too late.

Such a fun and quick read! Definitely helped me get out of a book slump.
