Instead what they'll feel is a very particular kind of ache, one that will spasm at random intervals - [...] - and when it does they'll know: this is the longing for a place that's become a part of you. This is the yearning you carry when you never really leave.

It's fair to say that this book got a bit confusing at times with all the perspectives and all the girls with similar sounding names. I think it would have benefited from focusing on less character but more in depth. Anyway, thw writin style was great and I will definitely keep up with whatever book Emily Layden decides to write next

✨All girls✨

I was initially drawn to this novel as its set at a boarding school and I loooove campus novels

kinda boring and predictable. the premise sounded interesting but it doesn’t do it for me

This book tried to tell a story about a place through a series of incidents & events, but actually wound up telling no story at all. There were far too many characters & you never got to know any of them well enough to be invested in their story. The scope was too broad & it made the book lack tension, which seemed like it would’ve been in abundance as a group of teenage girls reacted to the assault allegation at their boarding school. In the end, though, very few of the girls’ stories even connected back to the assault. It just became a thing that happened in the background, but never really affected the day-to-day lives of the characters.

I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley.
