A decent twisty thriller mystery hobbled by a bad ending. Right around the time the timeline of the two POVs was revealed the book started to lose me. Billy shows up and yeah, that's when it stretched credulity too far for me. Wow, that psychologist folded SO fast when they said that one guy's name. He didn't even like? Look up their claims? Wow.
I'm unsatisfied with how it resolved. TheBilly twist just didn't hit. Which is too bad because the timeline reveal was pretty cool, even though I figured it out.

The book contains a variety of POVs & for most of the story, I was trying to piece together how one of them tied into the main theme. As soon as 'Wendy' & 'Jane' told their story it made sense as to why the book was even created; but the plot definitely thickens in every situation around all angles.

What and interesting and page turning read. I would definitely recommend this book as it is fast paced and a perfect balance between character development, twists and turns, and the thriller aspect I look for in these kinds of books.
I enjoyed trying to guess the interconnectedness and where I thought the two stories were going to come together. Did I guess it? Maybe, but it was still a solid transition.
I loved the raw representation of the different ways people handle grief and thought the author was both entertaining and respectful in that aspect. It was uncomfortable and gut wrenching and most definitely heartbreaking in all the ways a story like this should be.

My only meh was of course the ending where I’m a bit confused as to how to feel. The reveal 100% turned the title of this story on its head… but why?? It doesn’t really seem like THAT particular character would go out of their way based on their actions and motivations throughout the book. Why would that change last 20 pages of the book? I’m glad that particular “issue” of the book was addressed and wrapped up but I’m not sure it makes sense for that character in to be the one to do it… just felt like an odd decision to me but to each their own!!
