A very solid 4 stars. Starting this book felt like jumping on a treadmill already going at full speed. Very few dull moments and the twists at the end were shocking. I liked that the ending was somewhat unconventional too.

My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It did take me around the first 50 pages before I actually started getting into the story, but once I did I was hooked.
I could feel the characters’ anxiety through the pages which displays exceptional writing abilities from Cavanagh. I will definitely be reading more of his books in the future.

I'm a big fan of Steve Cavanagh and have read most of the Eddie Flynn series so when I heard about this standalone I was excited to read something different from him. Plus, the title had me hooked!
This was such a brilliant book. Granted, I had no idea what was going on for the first half! I just enjoyed the story. Each chapter ended with me itching to start the next.

Liked - fast paced, twisty, some plot redemption
Disliked - violence / graphic murder and a lot of it 🫣
It was also just way too ridiculous and unbelievable, which is perhaps why people can read these sorts of books, but I struggled with the idea of so much senseless murder.
