the beginning I was really thinking this book was just a modern take on strangers on a train but the 2nd half changed all that! definite points for taking inspo and creating something new.

Holy plot twists!!! Wow, this was so much fun. The use of multi-pov was super engaging and the pacing was rapid, I almost felt like I needed to take a deep breath before starting each chapter!
The chapters are short, and end with cliff-hangers making this one completely unputdownable. I really enjoyed the female characters and felt a string of various emotions listening to their stories and motivations.
I did feel like the first major plot twist was a bit underwhelming and wished it had been presented in a less matter of fact way considering how many gut punches we get throughout the rest of the book. However, the 2nd plot twist more than made up for it. And while yes, the reader does have to believe in some far fetched series of events to make the plot make sense, that didn’t necessarily bother me.
The book left us with some ends tied and some still morally gray, which I honestly kind of enjoy. Sometimes the best endings are the ones that leave you thinking about what could’ve gone differently.
Highly recommend! The audiobook was pretty good too, though I wish they would’ve used multiple narrators.

This book is kinda dark and features some heave topics (eg suicide, murder, graphic violence etc). Sensitive viewers should check triggers.
Super twisty with plenty of reveals along the way right up until the end. Kept me guessing the whole way through! Just when you think these poor characters have suffered enough there anti is upped once again haha. If I could give a critique I’d say I wish we got a bit more information a bit sooner. For the longest time I was waiting to see how the two halves of the story were connected and although the two halves were individually interesting, waiting to see how they were connected was eating away at me for so long haha.
I found it quite interesting how all the characters were varying levels of morally grey and it makes you really think about what lengths a human could go to while saddled with immense pain and trauma. How far can you be pushed?
This book also seems like the type of thriller that is a whole new experience with a reread. Especially with how you are drip fed reveals and details so slowly throughout the novel. Will definitely be giving this one another read one day. After I’ve processed all that!!
