Did Amanda ever get her car back? Why would you leave your car outside the house of a man you just murdered? Why does Amanda eat cereal with water? Why didn’t Ruth ever go back to see her husband? Justice for Scott please, he was the only likeable character in this story who showed conscious guilt and regret for his actions. Why didn’t Amanda get charged for murder/attempted murder against Quinn, Farrow just decides he’ll ignore the DNA evidence but he told his detective partner the DNA results, as would the forensics lab know? I just don’t see how Farrow can cover that up and she gets away with it completely. Why are we okay with Ruth suddenly being able to commit murder herself, and plan to murder a whole family, including young children. Why are we giving Mr Blue Eyes a hero edit.

This was a perfect thriller to me. I don’t think I have any complaints (shocker, I know). Multiple POVs with new ones added gradually making for a pretty seamless reading experience, short chapters, some really good twists AND an ending that left me satisfied - I like things wrapped up but enjoy some morally grey aspects and Mr. Cavanagh delivered.

This one starts with two storylines. First storyline is a woman who’s experienced the tragedy of losing her young daughter to a predator, and her partner committing suicide shortly after. Thinking she knows who the culprit is she decides to take matters into her own hands and take him out - after failing her mission she ends up in trauma therapy where she meets another woman who has also gone through a tragedy and they decide on a better way to take matters into their own hands..

The second storyline follows a woman who is attacked in her house. All she remembers before the attack is a man standing behind her with blue eyes. After surviving the attack, she is traumatized and can’t get this man out of her head, causing her to spiral. These two storylines somehow align and the outcome is wild.

Honestly, there’s always a point when I’m reading and I start to think about my rating. I’m still open to moving things around based on how things turn out, and obviously with thrillers you often have to wait for the ending to truly know what your overall opinion is going to be… But, at about 3/4 I was like - I think this has got to be a 5 stars unless some of these loose ends don’t get tied off - and here we are - a 5 star thriller for me! A rarity!

I listened to this on audiobook and would recommend this format. One narrator for multiple POVs, but she did a great job.
