The action started getting really old toward the end and the plot got completely absurd, but overall a fun read. Don't look to it for cultural significance, though. It's not there.
It felt very unbelievable. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief enough to believe thata CIA agent would break out a kid from DHS headquarters and take him on the run to solve a mystery
Torn between a 3 and a 4 on this. For me, it was a three. The plot seemed too far fetched and the characters could’ve been more developed. However, this definitely has mass appeal for my students. Well paced and some solid action for them.

I read this book with my son, and it was pretty good! I appreciated how Gratz made you view different perspectives. I definitely recommend it for a middle schooler!

Action packed story. Every time you think you've got it, there is a twist to keep it interesting. Good story about a boy whose soldier brother defects to Al Qaeda. Now, he must try to clear his brother's name with some help by a prepared but ragtag group of professionals.
