There was a warning, not to read this book without having read the previous ones in the series. I ignored it and it actually was ok that I didn't know all these characters mentioned in this story. So that was not my problem with this book. I just did not like the story itself. It was too soft and nice for an MC story. I was expecting something different and that is my bad. Even though the writing is clean and simple, I didn't enjoy it because of my high expectations.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rosa and Axel have amazing chemistry. I absolutely love the interactions between characters. Entertaining and steamy read with twists and surprises. This is a shorter read that is well written and interesting.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Rosa is a cartel princess growing up between her father's estate in Mexico and her mom's house in Arizona. Her dad treated her like the princess while her mother had her believing she was not good enough to be loved. Now she makes her living as a Vixen.

Axel is a true alpha with the Reapers MC. He thinks he can take whatever he wants whenever he wants. He has wanted Rosa for a while but has steered clear because of her friendship and crush on his brother Grim.

At the age of 25 Rosa can receive her inheritance from her dad but there are stipulations. She has thirty days to be married or forfeit the money. Rosa also finds out her dad has promised her to another cartel boss' son. And he is looking for her.

After one night together Axel is ready for more with Rosa but she pushes back. She is one tough cookie, at least on the outside. Axel learns the best way to Rosa's heart is by not trying to push her around.

This story is just the beginning for the couple and the story does end on a cliffhanger. It is great that Rosa knows her worth and stands up for herself, even as far as pushing back. Axel does seem to really love Rosa. She also has him thinking about the future.

This story isn't a standalone but for anyone reading the series, Axel is a great addition. It is a quick read but the window is open for more of their story.
