This book was  recommended by my therapist and I read the first 40% really fast and the last 60% really slow. Not because of the pacing of the book, but more because of my own life.  However, as soon as I finished it (with sticky tabs and margin notes throughout), I felt like I needed to go back to the beginning and start again. This book is very accessible and it asks the reader to really open up to their own fears and perceived inadequacies while also looking outwards and examining how you can affect yourself and the people around you. Highly recommend this if you have been struggling with finding a path that includes happiness in a world where it seems like something horrible is happening every single minute of the day in our world.

I don’t know how to review this other than to say that I love all three Pema Chödrön books I’ve read thus far, they are deeply comforting and grounding, and they are so important to me that I have resolved to read at least one of her books every year.

A book that is both soul lighting and laced with tangible steps to bring more peace and awareness in your life. Pema Chödrön is one of my favorite Buddhist teachers, and I always treasure reading her works.
