Not for 2025 brain I would say. Must have been great back in the days.

10/10 wouldn’t change a single thing
Dickens reminds me, with each character, of the preciousness of each life, of every journey, of being witness to one another and ourselves.
Copperfield made me laugh out loud and cry, and I’m just sad that my life is so removed from his time and place that I know I’m not able to recognize and appreciate some of the details of this book. It’s a lovely story, and connected me to this past.
Narrator: excellent, though slightly intense sometimes

I was listening to this after I listened to Demon Copperhead (which was excellent). I’m giving up for now, because it feels too long and I have so many other wonderful books I want to read first. Great drama, but too much of it for me this year.

This narration by Joel Froomkin is wonderful. His characterizations are fantastic. So enjoyable.
My 6th grade nemesis. Unwilling to foray into Charles Dickens after this.

a classic which deserves to be a classic. David is a brilliant narrator and paints believable pictures of the characters throughout his life story. some slower parts, but in general very engaging and readable. the world felt incredibly Dickensian throughout
