This book is so creative and imaginative. I really enjoyed that aspect!
It was a bit darker than I was anticipating; this would make a good book club book for the discussion.
There were some parts of the book that felt unfinished, which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, though, very creative.

A unique storyline. Nothing I’ve read before. There were some holes left in the story, but I think the way the novel is written, the author can get away with it. This is one of those novels that not every chapter or character aligns perfectly. I think I may be okay with that. Still deciding. No sexual content.

The Memory Collectors follows Harriet and Ev, who can both sense the stories and emotions that are left on objects. They have initially embraced their abilities in different ways, and the story shows them coming together to sort through their differing opinions on how this power should be used.
I really liked the premise for the story, and as the story got going I was engaged and wanted to know how the story would wrap up. I enjoyed thinking about how we associate a lot of meaning with certain objects, and what objects in my life I would think would have the most emotion tied to them. I also loved the Vancouver setting!
I would have liked the story to have a quicker start with a more clear explanation of the powers and the setting. It took me a while to get into the story, and I found myself having to try and figure out key pieces of contextual information pretty far into the book. The book really picked up at the end, and I enjoyed how it wrapped up. The potential romance plot line could have just not existed and I would have been happy with that. Overall, this was an enjoyable read but the pacing of the story made it hard for me to get into it as much as I would have liked.
