I guess the point is that both realities can be happening concurrently but that really stretches the boundaries of my brain function. I found myself liking one version of the story more than the other but not really loving the outcomes of either. This is not, imo, TJR’s best novel. It was cute, interesting, heart-wrenching but ultimately, just okay.

It just kept getting worse! I expected the two storylines to diverge a lot more, but in the end they were almost identical. I hate stories where every single thing works out in the end, ugh. After reading the viral 3 Jenkins Reid books (which I fucking LOVED) I had some expectations, none of which were met. I deeply disliked Ethan, and I couldn't really see why Hannah and Gabby were such eternal besties. I also disliked the internalized fatphobia, and while it may have made Hannah more relatable, the way it was presented just felt like normalizing such thoughts. And don't get me started on the whole concept of soulmates and fate, another concept of this book I heavily disagree with. I only listened through the whole thing because I kept hoping it'd eventually get better, but no, it was only downhill from the beginning (the part I actually liked). Maybe romance just isn't my genre, but maybe this book could have had more depth in its characters as well.

I’ll probably add more when I can but I just rly like the multiverse theory and how it played out here. The idea that despite different possibilities some things may just really be meant to be.

I experienced a loss recently and in a weird way I’m finding comfort in the fact that maybe there’s a universe out there where my friend is still here. Anyways, beautifully written book and I can’t even say which version I loved more for Hannah, both were wonderful. And I loved Gabby’s story, too.
