An eye opener. A must-read. This book is like Hosseini pulling off the veil of the mystery surrounding Afghanistan, surrounding women, surrounding history, surrounding culture and surrounding the women  of Afghanistan. Brutal, honest and like multiple kicks to the heart and soul, this book tells a tale of love, neglect, war, abandonement, abuse, escape, tranquility and, once again, love. 

A must-read for anyone and everyone. If I could, I would've given this infinite stars- because like a thousand splendid suns, it shines bright and burns my very existence with the truth most of us are ignorant of.

So So good. would recommend to anyone who isn’t too triggered by violence or suicide. This book is so important. People like these characters are still struggling today, now that the taliban have come back into power. This story may not be real but there are real people struggling in this way all over. please please read this book.

this book made me flare up in a rage 70 pages in and then i was crying another several chapters down the road. it kept pulling me along on this wonderful (not rly) emotional roller coaster ride. i have never cried this extensively while reading a book. thank u to khaled hosseini for creating this masterpiece and teaching me what its like to feel again.
