I cannot wait for Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, 2021. He embodies everything we’ve lacked for four years: kindness, compassion and hope. The complete opposite of Deranged Don.

I remember seeing Joe Biden on Colbert after his son's death, feeling so moved by his honesty. That's how the book feels. Some may find it too political, but his personal crisis was happening while he was the Vice-President; his two worlds were competing every day. I respect that he never mentioned Trump, even though the book was completed 6 months into the new administration. The Audible version is especially moving because it's Biden's own voice. Highly recommended.

Biden writes exactly how he speaks: bluntly, from the heart. There's no arguing that he's a compassionate and caring person who has undergone incredible personal tragedy. The most moving parts were about his son Beau which the story is centered around. This also went into the large foreign policy role he played during his time as vice president and his skill with negotiations, but these parts lagged a lot. Thought it would be worthwhile to check out before the November election. Since the story ends on his 2016 presidential decision, it's also interesting to see how he's come full circle back to it.

Loved this. He seemed the most human of political leaders.
