It doesn’t take a whole lot to get me to enjoy a book. I can go for most anything.. and i love it when things are plain for me to see and I don’t have to think too much. And this was exactly what this was. I felt like I was watching a murder mystery movie in my head!

The only reason this isn’t going to get 5 stars is purely from exposure. If this was the first murder mystery I’ve ever read it would receive a 5 ⭐️ for sure. But it’s a same format i’ve seen in almost every who dunnit.

The ending was great! It was something I didn’t expect at all, and that’s how you know you’ve got a good murder mystery. I did truly love this book and I’m happy to say it was my first read of 2024. It came as a recommendation from my 14 year old brother, and i’ll be continuing to ask him for recs after this one!

*light spoilers ahead*

i enjoyed the way it was wrapped up but I still don’t understand why Lombard said the marble falling was sleight of hand? So much so I want back and read chapter 16 again thinking I must have misunderstood their conversation but, unless I misunderstood it again, he did say it was a trick with sleight of hand? Any insight hit me up.
