Mark’s father calls for him to the new planet he is ruling. He has created a new family there and it is not too late after they reunite that all hell breaks loose.

Invincible Vol. 6 contains issues #25-30, which pertains mostly to a story arc in which Mark travels to a distant planet and discovers what his father, Nolan/Omni-Man, has been up to in the time since their last encounter. As far as the series goes, it's one of the most consistent and cohesive story arcs, with some great character development for both Mark and Nolan. It introduces Mark's younger brother, and provides some unique character drama for Mark and his supporting cast.

These issues are some of the best of the book's third year of publication, with some very ambitious page layouts and panel art. It also marks the first stretch of the book I really fell in love with in my first pass through the series. While there's still a whole lot more to come, Volume 6 is critical reading for the overarching plot of the series and for the continual evolution of the series as a whole. This is the run that pushes the book into must-read comics.

One of my favorite volumes so far!! Definitely captivated Mark’s struggle of being a superhero a lot more than the other volumes.

I love all the side stories going on right now. The Mueller twins/clones, Robot’s suspicious behavior, the Viltrumite’s taking over other worlds, Alien the Alien trying to amass an interplanetary alliance, and the Guardians of the Globe team drama. This volume kicks a lot of these issues up a notch and we see how they could all intertwine eventually.
I am worried about Mark’s mom, Debbie, as she reconciles the fact that Nolan began another life on another planet so soon after he left and started a family. She has a lot of baggage and worry. I am curious to see how The Immortal dating Kate will impact the Guardian‘s team dynamic. Robot seems to be helping some type of alien in a fish tank collect materials to grow stronger. Now they have Nolan’s alien baby!?!

I’m also enjoying Mark’s development. He got stronger fighting other Viltrumites and he’s slowly forgiving Nolan (or at least trying to understand his father). He stood up to Cecile too and went to the alien planet without government permission. I’m curious how longer space missions will affect Mark’s relationship with Amber too.

I always find hard to believe character redemption arcs. It's like stretching out the fiction of it looks far fetched, yet at least there is some sort of temporary scarring and that serves as a purpose for Mark and his mother.

No spoilers, but Mark Grayson has quickly grown into one of my favourite characters. My only complaint about this series is that I didn't get into it sooner.
