A fun historical fiction that plays with What-If history. Some of it was believable, a lot of it was just for fun. Ended rather abruptly in my opinion. They build up around this mummy they've found, and then they never really address her story and her ending very well.

This was a really refreshing read. "The Da Vinci Code" made the historical thriller genre trendy again, but of course any bestseller inspires imitators. Glenn Meade is in a league all his own. The book was completely different than I thought it would be, but still intriguing. The story effortlessly spans decades, continents, and weaves seemingly independent storylines into a cohesive, satisfying whole. Anyone who's been fascinated by the story of the Romanovs will enjoy this book. It's painstakingly researched, and while this is fiction it hews very closely to the actual history of the era. My favorite part about the ending was that Meade forgoes throwing in a massive plot twist in favor of a believable conclusion that still leaves room for you to speculate.

Excellent! The narrative was gripping from start to finish. I had a hard time putting the book down. If you're a fan of historical fiction and mystery, then this book is top-notch!

One of the best books I've read in a long time and likely the best I read all year. Knowing the story of the revolution in Russia and the execution of the Tsar & his family, this story was a nice historical thriller revolving around that story. Fascinating, exciting, thrilling, espionage, love, family, war - it's all here. A well written, roller coaster of a ride.
