I had a wish to read the sort of bodice ripper romances that I had devoured in college so went back to check if there's any book left to read by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, thought I had finished reading all, but there, still a couple of books in the not read category and thus Everlasting. The thing about reading books from authors that you had once loved to death is that it might not feel as delicious as those you have read before. It could be that your tastes have changed or your whole likes and dislikes have changed. Everlasting did not give me the kind of reading pleasure that I expected but I am glad that picked it up. Abrielle and Raven felt wooden and that surely could be coz of the above reasons rather than any fault with the author's work. The story also felt a tad boring for me and compared to all the other works, this could be not her best. I'm sure I can still go back to reading the Wolf and The Dove or Shanna or any of her other works but Everlasting just didn't make the cut.
Was a good book. Well written. Starts off really good, but I found that later on in the book the plot just kept going and seemed a little drawn out. I kept flipping to see how many pages I had left in the book. I hate when reading a books seems to get tedious.
Abrielle has seemingly lost everything, her stepfather was shunned by the king for his bravery in the crusades and her finacee died tragically from a fall that is a questionable accident. This made her search for a husband become an act of desperation to save her family from poverty. She must accept the proposal from the evil brother of her late finacee, but not willingly. In steps Raven Seabern, the dashing Scot with black hair and flashing blue eyes. He saves her multiple times and she has captured his heart, but her Saxon birth makes her distrustful of the Scot. Will Abrielle ever be able to trust Raven, and will she ever be able to pursue the romance between the two of them that burns so brightly??

it's been a long time since I last read medieval historical romance and I'm glad that I choose this book to stir my interest in this genre again. although Abrielle's cluelessness about Raven's feelings for her really gets me frustrated at times. All in all it was an entertaining read.

Why does this even exist? The book was in no way in the same vein as the rest of Woodiwiss's books. It's as if she didn't write it or someone took over it for her. It's horrible, don't read it.
I had been thinking about reading this book for a few weeks now and it was still good the second time around; if not better.
The characters are beautiful crafted, the location just breathtaking and the story has no faults.
I loved every minute of this book and just couldn't put it down.

I was hanging around waiting to check out books from the library when I saw this. I had just talked yesterday or the day before about reading a Woodiwiss book in high school, so this seemed fated! I'm not what I would consider a fan of romances, so this could be disastrous!
I'm around page 50 and I think I'll stop there. It's pretty terrible, and not at all what I remember from Woodiwiss. My memory may be bad, or she may have lost something.
