I read three books in a row by this author because I enjoyed the 1st one so much. Each individually is a solid 3.5-4 star rating. Better than workmanlike writing style, fun exemplar of genre, vaguely believable. Would be willing to read again.

But my recommendation is to space these out. Partway through the third one, I realized they're all the same story. Hot bickering between sexy authority-man (tycoon, professor) and feisty city woman (marketing wizard, teaching assistant, old-Brooklynite), minor tattoos, flimsy agreement not to have sex but still to socialize because of reasons, that goes out the window, HEA.

I really really really liked it! I think the end it was kind of far fetched, but still, I liked it. Mr. Caine, I think I'm in love with you...

Beautiful Mistake is an overall enjoyable read.

Caine and Rachel have interesting histories as individuals. I think I would have had a stronger emotional connection to them if the story delved just a little bit deeper into their past. There are important relationships that I wanted to explore more.

Rachel and Caine have good chemistry between them, and the story features some surprises that unfold in unexpected ways. The forbidden romance aspect is barely touched upon, which is a missed opportunity.

Small tirade ahead: Sex (in varying detail) is a given in romance novels. I do wish, however, that authors would stop making females give the whole it’s SO big and I’m SO scared that it can’t possibly fit spiel. Vi Keeland is not the first author guilty of this, but I think I’ve reached maximum tolerance. My eyes just about rolled right out of my head.

I listened to the audiobook. I’m an anomaly who isn’t a huge fan of Sebastian York, but it’s been at least a year since I’ve listened to one of his books and I actually enjoyed his narration here. Maybe I just needed a cleanse? His Irish accent in one chapter is horrible, but other than that I have no complaints. Andi Arndt does a fine job as always.

Caine and Rachel were everything.

Beautiful Mistake was such a fun audiobook. I didn't realize I was going to devour it so quickly until is way over. These two, Rachel and Caine, needed one another to lean on throughout the entire book. A lot happened in this thing too which is why I thought their whole relationship was beyond beautiful.

The romance was magical to listen to. These two has chemistry, heat, romance, feelings, and I don't know what else to say but it was enjoyable people. It was quite easy to fall in love with them and everything else that happened.

In the end, they were both healed.

As always, Vi Keeland is the perfect cure to my book hangover. Every time I read an amazing book, one that's filled with so much emotion, I always break up all those serious feelings by reading a smutty book. I can almost always count on Vi's books to be a cute read, but not a superficial one. This was no exception. I love that these books have these great covers and seem like they're going to be complete smut, and then they surprise you and have all these serious parts. I REALLY enjoyed Caine West. Not a fan of the name though, just because I'm soooo tired of new adult males to have these really exotic, powerful names. I know it helps for the fantasy and imagination, but really, where are the normal names lol Aside from that, I loved the whole story. Finished it in about two days. Also, spoiler alert, I had a feeling she was going to end up being that little girl. Only, when she said she lived with her aunt and uncle I was like okay... so is it her friend Ava? I knew she was lying when she said she didn't have a stepfather. By then it had clicked. I love how he found out with the penny thing. Up until that point I was still pretty unsure about whether or not she was the girl. I think I audibly gasped when she threw down the pennies. I also love how this guy was so in touch with his emotions and just felt like leaving would be best for her so he doesn't screw her up. I think everyone can relate to this.. it's like you don't want your problems and background to become part of someone in your life.. I also love that it didn't become a huge sneaking around at school thing and risk getting him fired. I feel like that's always the story line when it comes to this stuff. Anyways, I really enjoyed this one. It was a fun read with a few twists and tricks. I love when a book can feel smutty and lighthearted, but also not just completely void of a plot or a true story. Vi's books always do that for me ;-)

It's by Vi Keeland, of course I would read it! There are some of her books that left me speechless to even do a book review; and there are few of her books that don't give me that feeling, like this one. It was a good story but dragging. The plot seems off or lacking? I don't know, but for me it lacks suspense with the past and present transition. Or maybe the author's portrayal of characters' entertainment is getting pretty old, like it has been recycled multiple times already. So I am conflicted why this one didn't work for me, though I like Caine and Rachel's characters.

I liked, liked, liked this book so much.
I won't lie, I was a little scared at the beginning and really thought I wouldn't like it.
I mean, after the first scene, I couldn't see where this was going...

But, oh, this was good. The sexual tension was mind blowing! The chemistry, really good.
I loved Caine. I had a hard time with Rachel at the beginning but then I started to really like her.
