I haven't read many historical romances, but this one was actually fun!
The spice was tactfully and tastefully written. The setting and theme was spot on, I felt like I was transported back in time to the ol' South.
Despite the era this book was written, I enjoyed the culturally and ethnically inclusive writing the Author used. I didn't feel like I was reading anything hateful. If anything, the MC's of the book were proudly against racism and bigotry against people and religious groups.
It was also a joy to read about old-time tobacco growing and cigarette making!!
