The Wee Free Men

Terry Pratchett

Not the best of Terry Pratchett, but definitely full of ideas. I'm having trouble reading inception books - dreams inside dreams, imaginary friends and stuff like that. Also, the way the Wee Free Men speak is crazy :-)

30th book of the Discworld series and we are starting a new story thread. I think I will enjoy the Tiffany Aching novels greatly if this one is any indication.

Terry Pratchett is among my top 10 favorite writers and I love all dis world, but the books focused on the witches and/or Tiffany Aching (and the NacMacFeegles) are my favorites among the favorites. Humor, adventure, and some great social satire all in a magical bucket atop the quirky dis world. What could be better?

Reread in 2024: I started rereading the witches books, and somehow the correct order was #4, then this one which I guess counts as #8. I listened to the audiobook, and I am sure I heard a different audiobook version before (because it had a male narrator, and that seemed so strange!).

Anyway: this was very well read, and the Nac Mac Freegals are ridiculous, and the bad guy is evil, and Tiffany Aching is the kind of hero I hope all kids (and grownups) are exposed to. May we all be selfish like Tiffany is selfish.

Wait, more witches? The witches books aren't my favorite, but still fun, and I hope to see more of the Mac Naggle too.
