The 2023 Audible edition is a treat. It's not listed on goodreads yet so here I leave my review. The reading by Indira Varma is warm and full of presence. I appreciate the alternate voices for footnotes and certain characters, and it's done smoothly enough that I don't find the change in voices jarring, as I do with many "full cast production" recorded books.
The Tiffany Aching books are favorites that I reread so frequently, I don't count them in my overall reading tally.

I chose this book by the cover, thrilled I did. Terry Pratchett spins a tale about Tiffany Aching, a young witch in training who is forced to go into an unknown land to rescue her baby brother,Wentworth. Armed with a frying pan and aided by the Wee Free men and a talking toad, Tiffany sets out on her adventure.
I love the little blue, grumpy, mouthy Wee Free men.

I was intensely interested to get into reading Wee Free Men, as I thought I'd read it before and not enjoyed it at the time - but realized I hadn't actually finished the whole book before.
In a similar vein to the Amazing Maurice, the style is very different to other Discworld novels - much more traditionally structured, although perhaps moreso than the previously mentioned book, Wee Free Men feels a little more zany as a Discworld should.
I suspect the reason I struggled last time I read this is I didn't fully get all of the Free Men's utterances (admittedly I still didn't this read-through either but enough for a laugh). I also felt like the Free Men were a bit of a duex ex machina, except when reading the book fully through Pratchett balances their appearances really well the final act more focussed on Tiffany's character than random appearances from the little blue guys.
Anyway this is the exciting beginning of reading the rest of the Tiffany Aching books which I haven't read at all, so its all new to me.

Great little read. This is one of the TP's more child oriented books, but still fun and funny.
And the little blue pixie-like folk are maybe based on a certain culture....
----
December 2014 - second read, aloud to 7 year old.
Less of a child book and more of a Discworld book (to be fair I couldn't even remember this being a Discworld-related novel and maybe got it confused with [b:Truckers|34542|Truckers (Bromeliad Trilogy, #1)|Terry Pratchett|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1168566237s/34542.jpg|1737268]) than I recollected but the strong feminist leanings of the witches of Discworld were well appreciated - as were the hilarious little Nac Mac Feegle who were even better than I remember. Crivens. Especially the tongue-twisting aloud "No'-as-big-as-Medium-Sized-Jock-but-bigger-than-Wee-Jock Jock".
Various references to tobacco and smoking were glossed over and dating badly but such is life.
