After finishing this book I wrote a thank/love letter to the writer on twitter. Here is it;
Dear @TaliaHibbert, in the last years I dreaded reading but I've never cried, laughed, blushed and been aroused as much as by Chloe & Red's story. At times I couldn't believe I wasn't reading my own thoughts. As painfull as that was, it was amazing too.
Somehow I thought it was a good idea to start reading the book on a family vacation. The times I had to explain my laughing and crying were answered with happiness. The times I had to put down the book, look at my friend and say "this is to spicy to read here": uncountable.
It was the first time reading my symptoms like this, the things I go though on the daily, yet they weren't mine. Some moments it was scary how much Chloe's fibro and mine are alike, not only the physical but also the mental & social implications.
We differ in the fact that my ADHD makes me do a tad bit to much spontaneous things nowadays. Whoever put an adhd brain in a chronically fatigued body is definitely a fan of torture. Still, the ever protecting part of my brain is there. Like Chloe's.
And all these tweets don't even cover, can't even cover, how much I love the little lines about Red loving Chloe's belly. Or how Red, in his looks & wit, is exactly my type. And how some scenes are written inspire me to continue my own writing.*
You might not even read all of this, as your account is an updates account, yet I just have to write. Thank you for this book. Thank you for the characters. The only thing I'm sad about is that I'll never be able to read for the first time again.
Oh and that I'm allergic to most if not all cats. I miss my cat at my parents and want my own smudge. Though I prefer not to rescue them from tree. I'm sure I'll find my Red(s), he/she/they, one day. Sadly my building doesn't have a superintendent. Love, Felicia

*on twitter I didn't specify which scenes but here I will say it were the more spicy ones.

I loved this book a lot, i thought the characters were lovely and so was the plot. The love between the main characters was to die for. this book was also informative, which i loved, giving us all a perspective of dating with chronic illness.

I liked the chronic pain rep and the male being abused in relationship rep. I think this book had a lot of good commentary and representation in general for “just being a romance book”.

I really liked how Red and Chloe played off each other — from cute nicknames like Button, to their abilities to mess with one another, to the perfect amount of spice.

It didn’t get 5 stars bc I am now an annoyingly picky romance reader. I think there could’ve been more side character interaction than there was instead of just Red and Chloe all the time. I get why (because they both were hiding), but still. There was still the breakup moment which is getting old in romances but I did like how Talia Hibbert used this moment to have the characters do some internal retrospective work regarding their traumas —that was actually refreshing. Lastly, sometimes the romance seemed a LITTLE too fast for my taste but still it was enemies to lovers so I’m here for that.

Overall a really cute romance that I found myself smiling and laughing at often. And definitely happy with the amount of spice wow. Definitely going to read about the other Brown sisters

It started out really promising, I liked the characters nearly instantly.  Then a few chapters in, not as much.  Some of the conflict seemed a bit dramatic, in a way that could have been easily solved.  It was kinda weird to read because at first it seemed like a YA but then all of a sudden there was spice.  Which is fine but it was just boring and when they got together it was like all the chemistry they had left out the window.  It had another white cis man being too emotional without knowing the full story because of his own insecurities.  I know he had past trauma but so did Chloe and she didn’t jump to conclusions so quickly without being mature about the whole situation of him finding out he was on her list.  Kinda ruined the book for me tbh.  So I just have mixed feelings.  I liked some parts of it but I also disliked some parts of it.

This was really cute. The beginning was a little dry but once I got into it I couldn’t stop reading. Their whole relationship was really sweet and the epilogue was even sweeter

I think I’m burnt out on romcoms with an aggressive amount of sex/masturbating.

The writing style is exhausting to pay attention to, honestly. I’ve seen better written books.

Overall, the plot centers around the building of a relationship between two characters that happens over the course of two weeks. It’s an unhealthy start, an unhealthy middle, and I guess they live happily ever after, but..,it didn’t sit very well with me. It romanticized an emotionally charged and reckless relationship.

Some may find it enjoyable. If that’s your kind of book, I guess it’s okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it to my friends and family.
