I liked this book, but was able to put it down for days at a time; it just didn't keep me like the previous installments. I think part was due to the fact that I felt the author chickened out of the 'darker' relationship between Raines and Tam in favor of the 'good guy' Mychael, by making him more mysterious and with some shade to his past. That was just a cop-out in my opinion.
I would also like to see some more satellite character development and not just descriptions.
Okay--this sounds like a harsh commentary on the book, but in general its a fast read with lots of action and it was well written.

I love visiting these characters as the series progresses but I feel like so much has happened one thing after the other that it's almost too much. Like the whole series has only been maybe two months of time in that world but the events add up to like much longer idk it's probably nitpicky of me but it kind of irks me. This installment is the aftermath of the souls escaping the Sahgred and the efforts to track them down and send them on their way to the beyond. As a villain Sarad Nukpana is a great one because he's such a schemer but I feel like the power of all the characters involved is going up at an exponential rate and doesn't seem true to the world. All criticisms aside I did have fun reading this and will pick up the next one.
