Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the digital ARC to review.
A delightful story of friendship that blooms during the 1960s through letters. Immy and Joans bond grows, like so many modern friendships, through food. I really enjoyed watching their friendship deepen even in times of uncertainty and sadness.
CW: discussions of abortion, medical content, death

This was a big surprise for me. I was expecting a fluffy love story and was pleasantly surprised to get a moving tale of a friendship between two women formed over good. I loved the time frame, locations, and all of the details that anchored me into the world. Truly a gem that left me feeling warm and fuzzy.

Oh my HEART. Was I a crying puddle on my living room floor upon finishing this book? I sure was. It caught me by surprise, the way I felt connected to these characters through letters (entire book is epistolary) in such a short time. But my heart was TAKEN and then also SQUEEZED and SMUSHED a bit and then given a hug and a bandaid. This book will make you hungry, nostalgic, and happy and sad and wonderful and ahhhhh just read it.
Minor: Death
