One of my favourites depictions of the small routines we make that can shape our whole lives.

This book simply BLEW. ME. AWAY. I knew I would love it (Fredrik Backman is one of my favorite authors), but WOW I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did.
This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and I did not want to put it down. Ove is a grumpy old man, but somehow we see his kindness and selflessness in the most simply ways. I think it is very impressive when an author is able to create a character that seems unbelievably real and multi-dimensional...and Backman has mastered it. After finishing this book I feel like I am missing a friend. Ove is such a well fleshed out character that it is easy to forget he isn't real.
I would say there is a TW for suicidal ideation in this book, so if that is triggering for you I would skip it. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this book enough and I am already looking forward to rereading it.
