Hop on Pop

Dr. Seuss

3.76 AVERAGE

This was my first ever dr Seuss book. I don’t think I picked a very good one to start with. To be honest I don’t see what all the hype is about with dr Seuss.

Possibly Day Man's favorite book in the first 6 months of life. The harsh consonants make him happy! And let's be honest; he tolerates me reading this book, but it's best done by "pop".

This book was one of my favorites as a kid. The rhyming words combined into funny scenes make learning about the sounds of words fun! Brightly colored pictures make for memorable characters and rhyme sequences. Another great read aloud.

I love all of Dr. Seuss's books.

"The Simplest Seuss for Youngest Use!"

Having never boarded as a child myself, I am now fully on board the Seuss train. Let it ride, baby.

This is the perfect intro into the Seussiverse - the book features just a couple words per page then uses them in an easy sentence:

"CUP
PUP
Cup on pup"

And so on. The sentence structure gets a little more complex as we go on.

A special shout out to those little monsters who see their dad moping about, and sum it up with "What a day Dad had!" Sounds like that Dad has a great support system at home.

That dad is not even the titular "Pop" getting hopped upon! At least that man has endured life with enough gumption left to scream for those punks to step off his springy dad-bod.

You can probably tell what role I play in the family.

Always made me want to jump on my dads stomach

If I'm honest, not the greatest Dr. Seuss book. "Hop on Pop" is a random assemblage of rhymes (short poems), strange words, and Dr. Seuss' trademark illustrations. From 1963, this was written to introduce basic phonetic concepts to children.

The worst part was when they hopped on pop.

This isn't my favorite Dr. Seuss book but it's still nice.
