Loved it! Loved Ashley and Mara, incredibly refreshing and real characters. At first I thought the too friendly cameraman would become a stalker and that would be the twist. I loved that the show was just underfunded and understaffed, and there was human fuckery instead of Looming Evil. I enjoyed the ending, and more worried they would be stuck rather than grieved the loss details on the journey back. I thought it was an interesting, bold, decisive way to end the story

I went into this book pretty blind but I heard good things about it. I really liked the premise of a survival-based reality show becoming a real and serious situation, so I was curious to check it out.

I’m not a survival expert but the tactics and methods in the book actually seemed to be pretty realistic and might even be useful to know. The book ended up not being as thrilling or suspenseful as I originally expected it to be, but it was enjoyable. Some people thought it was boring because of how slow it was and I definitely agreed at times but I thought it was mostly fine.

The story was very grounded and there was nothing supernatural or paranormal, which I was not expecting. I’ve said before that I like when books provide explanations, and this one didn’t do that, so it left me wanting more at the end. This was a pretty interesting read!
