This was an enjoyable high seas adventure with intrigue and pirates!
I enjoyed this book for the most part, but it was kind of slow. I liked the ending and the complex relationship she had with her father, but mostly this book just dragged its feet
3.5 stars, I guess.
I really liked the world, I liked the characters, I'm intrigued to know more about them all. Willa is just amazing, I love strong female characters. I want to see more of Paj and Auster <3 maybe I'll check out the prequel because I want to know more about Saint and Isolde.
Anyway, I would have given four stars, but there were just a few things that bothered me. I would have loved for the whole plot to take place over a longer time span, it felt really rushed and I did not see a reason for that. What's so wrong with taking a bit of time for characters to actually get to know each other, it would make it way more believable that they become friends or fall in love or maybe start to trust each other. Also, a major pet peeve of mine is having characters get hurt and then forgetting all about the injuries. It's mentioned that someone would take weeks to get back to his full strength and then he just acts like nothings wrong? Come on. And what is it with characters deciding to make out at the most unconvenient of times?

Enjoyable pirate adventure with your typical YA tropes.

3.5-4! To me, this sort of felt like a pirate Six of Crows. I could use more side character development, but it was a fast read and I enjoyed reading it!
