The representation of a booklover.
BEST.DONE.EVER.
Mostly when it comes to books about books, it's either you love them or end up hating them. There is nothing in the middle. But here it looks so goddamn real as if you are reading your own story.
WRITING FUCKIN 5/5
It would make you cry like anything.
Asher Fleet is THE best.
This book is extremely relatable on some s tier goddamn spiritual level.

Super cute. I think I might have to read Peter Pan now.

Could possibly be my favorite book of the summer. All the literary quotes, and connections. Overcoming the arts. Romance. It was wonderful. perhaps a little complex for my middle schoolers, and does include some underage drinking. But other than that, nothing inappropriate. But such a fun romance. And somedepth too .

Clean YA Romance

“Holding a real book is like holding something alive. There’s the grit of the pages between your fingers as you turn them. The edges get soft and worn. With a real book, you feel the weight of the story more.”

A book about a girl who loves books? Count me in- I honestly didn’t know much about this one but the Blurb definitely pulled me in! I really enjoyed how much Darcy grew over the course of the book and Asher was just a cinnamon bun. Then there was the friendship between Darcy and Marisol, it was top notch. We could all use a friend like Marisol- She was my favorite character for sure. This wasn’t just a book about romance or a girl who loves books- it was a book about mental health, self discovery, stepping out of what makes you feel safe and finding out who you truly are.

Blurb From Book :

From the moment she first learned to read, literary genius Darcy Wells has spent most of her time living in the worlds of her books. There, she can avoid the crushing reality of her mother’s hoarding and pretend her life is simply ordinary. But when a new property manager becomes more active in the upkeep of their apartment complex, the only home Darcy has ever known outside of her books suddenly hangs in the balance.

While Darcy is struggling to survive beneath the weight of her mother’s compulsive shopping, Asher Fleet, a former teen pilot with an unexpectedly shattered future, walks into the bookstore where she works…and straight into her heart. For the first time in her life, Darcy can’t seem to find the right words. Fairy tales are one thing, but real love makes her want to hide inside her carefully constructed ink-and-paper bomb shelter.

Still, after spending her whole life keeping people out, something about Asher makes Darcy want to open up. But securing her own happily-ever-after will mean she’ll need to stop hiding and start living her own truth—even if it’s messy.

What a gem, friends. One of these soft, yet deep contemporaries with this slow-burning love story, kickass incredible best friend, complex mother daughter relationship and all the books. I loved this so, so, SO much 200% recommend it.

I loved this book. From the characters to the storyline, it was so beautiful. I really related to Darcy, and her friendship with Marisol. It resonated with my friendship with Fee. I really connected with all the characters.

I loved how this book delved into hard topics, but still had such a lovely and sweet touch to it.

I’m satisfied with the conclusion, I think it really tied together well, and it didn’t need much more.

Although, one thing I would’ve appreciated would be a more in depth insight on Marisol and her life and relationship.

I finished it, which is really all I can say. I wanted to enjoy the romance, but it was so slow that it didn't really start until the end of the book, nearly. I enjoyed the last 60 pages, but the 270 that came before it, not so much.

this was completely fine but you can really tell it was the author's first book cause it is incomparable to the greatness that was acggttat. it was just okay, i had fun but i wasn't in love with it.
