I thought this book was predictable but then the author threw in a plot twist at the end that I absolutely didn’t expect! I couldn’t put this down

I enjoyed it a lot and thought it talked about a lot of important things. The writing was hard to get used to but other than that it was a great read.

La vida en su propia naturaleza, es complicada. En el caso de Darcy la vida desde el momento en el que su padre se fue para dar clases un semestre en Tailandia para ya no regresar, cambio y no siempre para bien.
Su mamá empezó a comprar cosas, demasiado, convirtiendo su casa y su vida en un lugar donde solo ellas pueden estar, ya que a Darcy le da pena que la gente se acerque y vea como es su vida.
Eso pasa hasta que Asher regresa a la ciudad, Asher y Darcy se conocen por su trabajo, siendo una amistad casual, pero obviamente comienzan a desarrollar sentimientos el uno por el otro, lo cual me tenía en un constante SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.
Las únicas personas con la que Darcy se abre son su abuela y su mejor amiga, ambas la empujan para que de lo mejor de ella, apoyándola con la complicada relación que tiene con su mamá, Su abuela busca que Darcy viva su vida lejos de preocupaciones por su madre, mientras que su mejor amiga, la apoya cuando Darcy decide buscar medios adicionales ya que los problemas de su madre dificultan un poco el mantenerse.
La verdad este libro me gusto bastante, es una lectura ligera, además de que es muy fácil simpatizar con los personajes.

And can we talk about Asher I mean the way their relationship started to develop, omg, was so refreshing because they were friends and longing for each other... Alexa play Slow Burn by Kacey Musgraves.
I need a sequel with what happen with Darcy’s dad, what happen with Asher, how is doing Darcy’s mom... I need answers.

Darcy isn't your average high school student, she's a literary genius who can virtually memorize any text she wants. She lives in her books and is never found without a book in her hands or in her purse. Her best friend Marisol has worked on getting her out of her shell a little more, but for Darcy, the plot line of her life isn't nearly as exciting about the ones she's reading about. Her home life is non-existent and she spends more time worrying about her mother than any other 17 year old on the planet. Her mom is a hoarder and Darcy's biggest fear is that the new building manager will find out, kick them out of their home, and CPS will take her away. Marisol and her books provide the only comfort in her life. That is until, she meets Asher. Cute, sincere, and quirky; this book is better than most other "teenage bibliophile" ones I've read. The characters are real, flawed, and great fun. A wonderful story!

This was so cruisey and excitingly comfortable. Characters with life and feeling, talent and real problems, dishy, charming young men who like books. There is also a whole lot of clever sweetness, acorns and thimbles, I’m looking for my copy of Peter Pan! Thank you Laura, you should feel wonderfully proud!
