I loved the idea behind this book. The teenagers being thrown onto a cooking show together was great, their dynamic was funny and perfect. Such a nice relaxing read that was super easy to get invested in.
This is a fun light novel, i think is refreshing and im always all about fun and cute novels, it has points that were well made , and i like that it got some things across without having to be intense, it still stay light and lovable
In ”Love from Scratch”, we follow Reese who’s landed her dream internship. I have to admit that I was a tiny bit jealous because of that internship. Would have loved to have the same one, lol. Nevermind, as Reese’s bubble is soon going to burst once she’s put in a video with Benny – another intern. Both are rivals but we soon see romantic feelings coming up between them. Drama is in the air!
I loved the setting of this novel and was totally able to relate with Reese. The writing style was amazing and the pacing was just as expected. Perfect! I would have managed to read this one in a sitting if I’d have had a day off during my reading. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case but this might be a helpful information for you readers out there if you’re in for a cute and fast read.
If you’re in for a cheesy PG-rated Romance Novel, with lovable characters and a lot of food puns (believe me, they are going to make you laugh!) then you absolutely have to read this book. It is a refreshing novel in the YA universe and will certainly not be my last book by this author. Can’t wait to see what she’s having in store for us in the future.

Absolutely loved this book! It's beautifully written and highlights important real world challenges faced by women in the setting of a light hearted rom com.
DNF at 48%. I really tried to get through this book but then I started marking all the places that this book was shoving its agenda in my face and I kept getting more and more irritated. I actually didn’t realize how upset I was getting until I was ranting to my husband, who took the book away from me! lol I will be happier for not finishing this book.
I was super lucky to receive an early version of this book from Edelweiss+, thank you again!!
Reese and Benny’s level of banter, teasing, friendly competition and endless food puns just absolutely made this book one of the best rom-coms that I've read in a long time!
The nicknames that Benny and Reese had for each other had me laughing out loud! I constantly craved Reese's Pieces/Reese's Cup during this whole book, thanks to Benny's adorable yet predictable nickname for her! BUT Reese had me crying from laughing so hard with any and all versions you could think of for variations on Benny's name. Cue "Benedict Cumberbatch" as the one that made me spit out my glorious iced coffee from laughing so hard!
The feminism stance and voices in this book were beyond perfect. Benny was the perfect gentlemen, who always was ready to tear down men or terrible thoughts that tried to attack our little Reese. I mean having such an understanding and beyond perfect stud muffin only made it easier for Reese, I, all the FOF watchers and probably anyone with a pulse fall for him as well. I will gladly third wheel any date of theirs just to taste some of the delicious food they made throughout this competition.
Kaitlyn Hill's writing was amazing and I really look forward to seeing what she comes out with next! Thank you for your beautiful writing, really allowing the characters to grow through challenges they have to faced
Overall, Love From Scratch is swoony, hilarious, original and will definitely cause some tears. *grabs some tissues*

Mehhhhh this felt like a drag. The MC was annoying. I did like the cooking dynamic, so there were some cute moments, but overall, meh.

Feels more like a girl working through trauma in her head than a cute love story.
I do love YouTube and relate a lot to the things that happen to Reese, but felt a lot of this book was her focusing on things that would’ve been a non-issue if she talked with anyone other than her friends about them.
I did have to keep reminding myself that she just graduated high school so she doesn’t have the world experience to know it’s ok to talk through it with others or put up a flag.
